Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to guide students through the process of 3D modeling. The student will try on a practical example the whole methodical design process. They will improve their methodological approach and the ability to analyze and subsequently solve the design problem.

Summary

The content of the exercise is to elaborate a design solutionor the construction node of a device. The students are based on the construction and design data, from the literature and patent research of the given of the problem and the theoretical knowledge they have acquired during the previous period Studies. They try to actively apply this knowledge to a given design problem. The elaborated design exercise is divided into a technical report where the requirements for the created structure are defined and specified, the proposed variant solution, design evaluation, control calculations and actual modeling in 3D CAD software.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

The student is evaluated in terms of performing tasks in exercises and for elaborating a semestral project, which is methodologically guided in exercises and also requires time work outside direct teaching. Support for this indirect teaching is provided by individual consultations.

Subject syllabus:

1. Design theory and data management. 2. Defining requirements for a specific design task. 3. Creation and evaluation of variant solutions and their evaluation. 4. Detailed elaboration of chosen design solution and checking of critical parts of the structure. 5. Project preparation. 6. Layout of assemblies and subassemblies (interconnection). 7. Modeling of individual project in 3D CAD system. 8. Modeling of individual project in 3D CAD system. 9. Modeling of individual project in 3D CAD system. 10. Modeling of individual project in 3D CAD system. 11. Modeling of individual project in 3D CAD system. 12. Modeling of individual project in 3D CAD system. 13. Critical evaluation of created structure. 14. Processing of model for presentation in virtual reality.
