Summary

Students will get acquainted with the basics of Catia software for mechanical engineering, they will learn the basics of using individual modules designed for the design of structural units. Emphasis is placed on practical mastery and creation of components, assemblies, surfaces and drawing documentation, including their editing options.

Compulsory literature:

CATIA documentation – HELP - Contents, Index, Search, Part Design, Assembly Design.

Recommended literature:

CATIA documentation – HELP - Contents, Index, Search, Wireframe and Surface Design, Generative Shape Design.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

During the semester are rated solved examples. The activity in solving unscored examples is taken into account in the credit. In the final evaluation for the credit, emphasis is placed on completing 1 practical example on a PC and submitting a semester project. The practical example on a PC is based on practical and theoretical knowledge gained in lectures and seminars. The semester project must be prepared on the basis of the requirements given by the leader of the exercise and contain the relevant requisites. The exam consists of a practical and a theoretical part, the practical part is devoted to work on a PC classroom.
