Summary

The graduate of the course will gain knowledge of modern trends in the design of individual parts of machine tools. The course is focused on storage, frames, feed systems, measuring accuracy. Measuring and modifying machines to reduce the expansion of these machines.

Subject syllabus:

Design of machine tool frames. Rolling and hydrostatic mounting of sliding axes. Rolling and hydrostatic storage of rotary axes. Design of feed systems. Measurement of machine tool accuracy. Thermal balance of machine tool drive. Design of machine tool cooling to reduce dilatation. Measuring machine dilatation.
