Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

To analyze mass passenger transport system from the technological, operational and economical point of view. To recognize and formulate transport problems and to propose transport system solutions. To summarize and evaluate effects and influences of designed changes in the spheres of transport quality, used transport modes and technology, economics and living environment. To perform transport system evaluation, their changes and impacts using study methods. Acquirements will be demonstrated by solving a semester project.

Teaching methods

Summary

Urban passenger transport net design. The model of transport service in a region, creation of urban passenger transport net. Transport quality evaluation. Transport organization. Costs in transport, cost dynamics. Freight road transport technology, vehicle turnover, loading, unloading. Output in freight road transport and in forwarding. Time and output utilization of freight road transport vehicles. Methods and instruments for transport control, dispatching control. Use of statistical methods in management. Transport economics, costs, income, economic result - income/profit, company economic balance, profitability, efficiency, productivity, solidity. National transport policy, transport harmonization with EU.
