To master fundamental principles of transport and handling equipment in common use. To become acquainted with the basic of their design and technology calculations. To become also acquainted with transported materials, their classification, properties and storage.

Summary

Introduction into theory and practical applications of commonly used transport equipments. Classification and properties of transported materials. Fundamental calculations of capacity, output, forces etc. of conveying machines, their description, principles of work and practical applications.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Lectures, exercises and oral exam are in Czech. Individual consultations and oral examinations may also be in English. A credit test is a minimum of 18 points in the overall assessment of the exercise. The point track is as follows: test 2 x 8 points = 16 points 1st program 4 points 2nd program 10 points The exam is oral and consists of the defense of the program No. 1 and answering 3 questions. The defense of program 1 is rated 0 to 10 points, each question 0 to 20 points. The condition is a minimum of 5 points for each question.

Subject syllabus:

To master the basic principles of the function of commonly used transport equipment and means and handling techniques. To get acquainted with the fundamentals of their design and technological calculations. Part of the lesson is also familiar with the materials transported, their sorting, properties and storage. Testing and State issues 1. Distribution of transported materials. Mechanical properties of bulk materials. 2. Division of transport. Calculation of carrying capacity. 3. Basic motion equation. 4. Traction force transmission systems. 5. Determination of tensile forces in the endless drawing element - graphical - numerical method. 6. Draw elements - ropes, chains and conveyor belts. 7. Construction and calculation of bulk containers. Tray and feeder caps. 8. Belt conveyor, principle, division and main part. 9. Technology of the belt conveyor. Basics of belt conveyor theory and calculation. 10. Special belt conveyors - cable-belt, with pressure belt, with partitions, hose. 11. Bucket conveyor - design, main parts, calculation. 12. Apron conveyor - construction, basis of calculation of chain conveyors. 13. Scraper conveyor - construction, basis of calculation of chain conveyors. 14. En-Masse conveyor - design, fundamentals of chain conveyors calculation. 15. Vibrating conveyor - schematic diagram, possibilities of vibration excitation, calculation of basic parameters of the vibratory conveyor. 16. Screw conveyor - design, distribution, simplified calculation of worm conveyor parameters. 17. Transportation by weight - slipways, gutters and gravity roller tracks. Powered roller tracks - design, basic calculation - motion resistors. 18. Hydraulic transport - distribution, basic design schemes, basis of calculation. 19. Pneumatic transport - distribution, basic design schemes, basis of calculation. 20. Elevators - distribution, construction and main parts, calculation of rope safety factor and friction capability control
