Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
To acquaint students with complete information on transportation facilities in the construction industry.
Students receive information from the application of specific types of transport and handling equipment and bulk solid materials, design options and their integration in the construction industry. Students will acquire the necessary capacity and design calculations.

Introduction into theory and practical applications of commonly used transport equipments. Classification and properties of transported materials. Fundamental calculations of capacity, output, forces etc. of conveying machines, their description, principles of work and practical applications.

The exam is oral and consists of the defense of the program No. 1 and answering 3 questions. The defense of program 1 is rated 0 to 10 points, each question 0 to 20 points. The condition is a minimum of 5 points for each question.

Lectures:
1st Terminology and basic concepts. Transported materials. Classification and
mechanical and physical properties of the material. Distribution of transport and handling equipment. Calculation of transport performance.
2nd Silos. Construction and closures. Feeders. Landfill solids.
3rd The equation of motion. Traction. Analysis of the tractive forces in pull element.
4th Distribution of conveyors. Belt conveyor. Main parts and accessories. Special belt conveyors.
5th Theory and calculation of the conveyor belt. Bucket elevator.
6th Chain conveyor. Scraper conveyor. Redler. Calculation of chain conveyors.
7th Vibratory conveyor. Auger.
8th Distribution of intermittent traffic. Rail transport. Construction and basic calculation of rail tracks. Rolling stock.
9th Determination of driving the vehicle rolling resistance. Principles of traction calculations.
10th Cranes. The calculation of lifting and running mechanisms.

1st Introduction to the workouts. Basic terminology. Methodology for measuring the mechanical properties of bulk materials.
2nd Output of transport equipment. Euler relations. Graphic-numerical method of determining the tensile strength of transport equipment with an endless traction element.

4th Chain conveyors.
5th Transport in the pipeline.
6th Rolling mill. Traction calculations.
7th The calculation of lifting and running machinery.
