Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The subject Computer Applications for Operational Management is aimed for initation with basic principles of discrete simulation focused on transport. Within the education is used simulation software Witness. Appropriate attention is devoted to statistical evaluation of simulation outcomes. The part of the subject is devoted to a demonstration of Monte Carlo method using for solving of some simple problems, such as definite integrals etc.

Summary
Within the subject elements of discrete simulation are taught, students will be familiarized for example with realization of pseudorandom number generating or statistical evaluation of simulation outcomes. Students solve concrete problems - especially queueing systems problems - by using simulation software Witness.
