Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

This subject aims at introducing to students of doctoral study the importance of human performance and the failure of a human factor in the efficiency and reliability of man-made systems where the direct failure of a human agent currently represents at least three quarters of all failures. Students will learn about important aspects of human performance, the main sources of human factor failure and, above all, measures that can reduce the risk of unwanted consequences of these failures within the safety of transport systems.

Summary

Human factors is a complex scientific discipline that solves the role of a person within a functional system. Thus, as we recognize the performance and reliability of the technical part of the technical agent system), we recognize the performance and reliability of the human part of the system (the human factor). After a very long period of development, man-made systems mainly addressed the performance and reliability of technology, while the performance and reliability of man was solved only marginally. This subject aims at introducing to students of doctoral study the importance of human performance and the failure of a human factor in the efficiency and reliability of man-made systems where the direct failure of a human agent currently represents at least three quarters of all failures.
