Summary

The subject responds to the current world trend of transition from the deterministic approach to the fully probable concept of reliability assessment of structures or components. The subject is related to the theory of reliability, statistics and probability. An important concept is also random variables and their interpretation, identification and ways of generating. The main focus is on the application of the SBRA (Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment) method as a tool for determining a fully probable reliability assessment of vehicles(specific applications in mechanics and technology, links with other numerical methods, familiarization with application programs). The subject acquaints with the basic theoretical and practical knowledge from the area of stress of materials and structural elements above the yield strength. It is devoted to areas that are specified in the course of the subject. It summarizes basic knowledge of metal physics, material testing, construction of test equipment, phenomenological description of material behavior during plastic deformation and ductile fracture.
