Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the course is the implementation of procedures and ideas for the correct layout of buildings within the internal logistics, their design, and solving complex issues of internal logistics flows.
By completing this course, students should acquire the following skills:
- design the logistics system on the basis of documents, including its assessment and verification,
- design material flows between objects, including their optimization.
By completing this course, students should be competent to:
- design of the company's logistics system and retrospective assessment of the system's functionality,
- logistic auditing and controlling.

Summary
In the course Logistics II - Logistics Systems, students will get acquainted with the deeper issues of acquiring competencies for:
- design of material flows within in-house transport,
- design of the layout of the workplace,
- optimization of material flows within complex logistics systems.

Verification of study results for full-time and part-time study:
Credit: minimum 18 points, maximum 30 points.
1. The student prepares a seminar paper in the field of logistics systems = evaluated from 0 to 20 points. 2. The student will prepare a research on the issue of logistics layout of the workplace and design of logistics flows = evaluated from 0 to 10 points.
Exam: minimum 33 points, maximum 70 points.
1. Discussion of seminar work and research = evaluated from 0 to 10 points.
2. Oral exam from two selected questions from the syllabus = evaluated from 0 to 60 points.

Subject syllabus:
1. Logistics - supply chain and competitive strategies.
2. Project progress, legislative background of projects. Engineering and engineering organizations in a market economy.
3. Project phases in the design of logistics systems and their division. Sequence of phases from the point of view of deciphering the project phase.
4. Logistics as a system, its elements and connections. Criteria functions of the manipulation problem, solution of material flows.
5. Measurement of logistics costs and performance. Basic input data for the design of logistics systems.
6. Synchronous supply chain. Complexity and supply chain. Risk management in the supply chain. Overcoming barriers to supply chain integration. Creating a sustainable supply chain. Additional chain in the future
7. Logistic dispositions in connection with the solution of material flows.
8. Representation of the movement of material flows (diagrams-Sankey diagram, schematic representation, etc.).
9. Transportability unit-MAG-its definition and dependence on mass flows.
10. Technical means for MM, their classification, selection methods (technical and economic point of view). Transport units, their role and creation, palletizing and containerization. Graphs resource type Vs distance.
11. Logistics technologies-KANBAN, Just in Time, Just in Responce, etc.
12. Method of evaluation of variants in projects. Determination of transport capacity of transport and handling equipment (cranes, transport carts).
13. Warehouse logistics and warehousing technologies. Cross-Dock Center.
14. Logistic auditing and controlling.
