Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The course is based on module 090 – Communication. The course acquaints students with basic communication skills for air transport, which is a basic prerequisite for increasing safety and reducing risks in air transport.

Summary

The student will gain competencies in the field of VFR communication, which allow him to pass the PPL exams at the Civil Aviation Authority in Prague. The student will also acquire competencies in the field of IFR communication, which allow him to pass the ATPL exams at the Civil Aviation Authority in Prague.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

The acquired knowledge of students is continuously verified during individual lessons in the form of discussion and questions with the aim of active involvement of students in teaching. Students' knowledge is verified at the end of the semester by a written test.

Subject syllabus:

1. Radiotelephony and communication. 2. General principles of radio wave propagation and frequency allocation. 3. Abbreviations for air traffic control, groups of Q-codes, categories of message. 4. Transmission of letters, numbers and time in aviation. 5. Standard words and phrases. 6. Important terms in meteorological information. 7. Procedures for departures and arrivals uder VFR. 8. VFR track procedures. 9. Procedures for departures and arrivals under IFR. 10. Track procedures for IFR. 11. Loss of connection - procedures for VFR flights. 12. Loss of connection - procedures for IFR flights. 13. Distress and urgency procedures 14. Summary of procedures according to individual regulations.
