Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The student will gain an overview of the basic principles of electrical engineering to the extent necessary for a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with an aviation focus, who will meet them as a user. They will acquire knowledge about the context of electrical elements and their use in aircraft systems and the electronic part of the equipment, which will be worked on later.

Summary
The course is based on module 022, Annex II, EC Decision No. 2016/008 / R - Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering in Aviation. The content of the course is focused on knowledge of the context of electrical elements, their principles, subsequent use in the operation of the aircraft system and electronic parts of the equipment.
Compulsory literature:
MERZ H.: Electric Machines and Drives (Fundamentals and Calculation Examples for Beginners), VDE Verlag Berlin und Offenbach, Berlin, 2002. ISBN 3- 8007-2602-5. Pages from 225 to 408.
Recommended literature:
Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
Continuous verification of students' knowledge in practical exercises, where students are actively involved in teaching using the simulation program NI Multisim. The aim is to acquaint students with the practical use of electrical engineering in aviation.
Credit will be obtained on the basis of control tests for solving numerical examples and independent work in a simulation program.
An independent project, which from a practical point of view solves the studied issues in the simulation program, verifies the achieved results and draws conclusions.
Closing of the course will be realized by an exam, consisting of a written and an oral part.
