The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic principles of commercial and operational activities of airlines.

Summary

The student will gain an overview of the basic principles in key topics of commercial and operational areas of airlines, including airline costs, open sky agreements, airline transport activities, revenue management, airport service provision, product planning, etc. to the extent necessary for a graduate of a bachelor's degree programme with an aviation focus. It will acquire knowledge of the context of operating airlines in a global environment, following selected entities active in air transport.

Continuous verification of students' knowledge in practical exercises where students are actively involved in teaching. A separate project of a smaller scale, which, from a practical point of view, solves the studied issues, verifies the results achieved and draws conclusions.

Mandatory attendence participation: The knowledge of students is continuously verified during each lesson in the form of discussion and questions with the aim of actively involving students in the lecture. Students elaborate a semestral paper according to an individual assignment and present its results. Students' knowledge is verified at the end of the semester by a written test.
