Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to get acquainted with the theory and construction of process equipment for the processing of raw materials, including practical applications of process and special transport machines in operations. By completing this course, students should acquire the following skills: - identify the process equipment, its functionality and parameters - use knowledge of the behavior of substances for the construction of equipment, - design and calculate equipment according to capacity assumptions By completing this course, students should be competent to: - design new process equipment.

Summary

Students will get acquainted with the theory and construction of equipment for process processing of materials, ie. with the theoretical design for the construction of process machines and equipment. The study of the subject is supplemented by practical applications of treatment and transport machines in operation.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study results for full-time and part-time study: Credit: minimum 18 points, maximum 30 points. 1. The student prepares a seminar paper in the field of process systems = set from 0 to 20 points. 2. The student prepares a search of professional articles and patents = evaluated from 0 to 10 points. Exam: minimum 33 points, maximum 70 points. 1. Discussion of seminar work and research = evaluated from 0 to 10 points. 2. Oral exam from two selected questions from the syllabus = evaluated from 0 to 60 points.

1. Characteristics of transported materials according to the FEM standard. Piece materials. Mechanical properties of the material. 2. Basic concepts in material disintegration. 3. Disconnection, disconnectability and degree of disconnection. Basic types and methods of mechanical disconnection. 4. Disconnection theory. Kick's hypothesis (volume). Rittinger's hypothesis (surface). Kick-Standler hypothesis. Bond hypothesis. General differential equation of decoupling. 5. Crushing machines. Division and use of crushing and grinding machines. 6. Cone crusher. Basic parameters of sharp-angle cone crushers. Symons crusher calculation. 7. Roller crusher. Parameters of roller crusher. 8. Jaw crusher. Jaw crusher calculation. 9. Ball mill. Calculation and design of a ball mill. Calculation of the ball waste angle. 10. Critical speed of the ball mill. Optimal ball mill speed. Working speed of the ball mill. Spherical motion modes by speed. 11. Pearl mill. Hammer and impact crusher. Hammer / impact crusher design. 12. Material classification. Classification of sorting aggregates. Vibrating screens. 13. Movement of material along networks with rectilinear motion (β = 0 °, β <> 0). Movement of material on a network with rotary motion (β = 0 °, β <> 0). 14. Special sorters.
