Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Basics of designing The aim of this teaching subject is to provide the students with basic knowledge of the technological procedure and workplace layout development methods, analysis of work and labour and determination of work time standards, use of standardization methods and capacity calculations. Furthermore, this subject provides knowledge of material flow analysis methods and their application, identification of requirements for warehouse management, identification of workplace lighting equirements, knowledge of the designing principles for noise protection and fire protection at the workplace. The student will be competent to develop a technical process of manufacture, optimize existing manufacturing procedures, and propose measures to improve the working environment.

Summary

The instruction immediately follows up the subject of Manufacturing Documentation Development in AutoCAD, making use of knowledge acquired in the subjects of material processing technologies, particularly the technology of machining, welding and forming. The students will use their knowledge in the creation of graphical work and in designing technological procedures needed for studying the subjects of Designing Manufacturing Processes and Designing Manufacturing Systems. They will also get basic knowledge of job standardization. Focus is on acquiring professional skills in designing technological procedures. Computer techniques are used in seminars. Focus in this subject is on the development of the professional profile of the graduate who will work as a technologist or designer in the preparation of industrial production.

Subject syllabus:

Lectures: 1 Stages of the technological designing process, their scope, the manufacturing process Importance and roles of standardizations 2 Methods of time standards setting in industrial production Methods of standardization of processes 3 Graphics system for designing Graphical documentation development 4 Material flow analysis methods 5 Capacity calculations 6 Intra-plant transport Warehouse management 7 Fire prevention and protection principles in designing Technical gases 8 Workplace lighting 9 Water management system Seminars: 1. AutoCAD in the computer room network, working environment setting. 2. Definition of the program, development of a technical drawing – students' individual work. 3. Technological procedures, major parts, principles of development. 4. Identification of the technological operations, recording them in the form. 5. Dividing plan, flame-cutting plan, cutting plan, semi-finished product cost calculation 6. Drawing of the pictorial sequence of the technological operations, identification of segments and procedures. 7. Determination of the standards of the operations, standards documents, recording the standards of labour consumption in the dedicated form. 8. Warehouse capacity determination. 9. Assessment of the program developed
