Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students will be able: • to explain basic ideas concerned technologies of forming, casting and welding, • to illustrate the influence of forming upon properties and structure of materials, • to explain basic laws of plastic deformation, • to describe basic tools, machines and principles of technologies of volume hot forming, volume cold forming, material blanking, sheet-metal drawing, bending, casting, non-conventional forming technologies, polymers and its processing, basic welding technologies, marking and coputation of welded joints and constructions, evaluation of materials weldability and material cutting technologies. They gain: • knowledge of principles and technical terms of principal production methods – technologies of forming, casting and welding, • knowledge of basic technologic production processes used in mechanical engineering production, which is necessary for understanding of modern production technologies. They will be able: • to choose suitable materials and master of creation method of technologic production processes of simple parts included basic computations.
