Ability - to identify ductility/workability as a material property - to discriminate a different terms of ductility (SOS, Intrinsic) - to decode ductility criteria - to schedule experiments for ductility limits asses - to realize and to evaluate the experiments - to describe an unconventional methods (UCM) of metal forming - to analyse UCM considering the aims of technological design - to choose UCM for purpose done

Summary

Ductility /workability of metals is important attribute of metals from poit of wiev of technological design. Deformation limits and production costs are determinated by ductility of metals. Definition, criteria, variables and tests of ductility will be presented for cold, warm and hot metal forming.Unconventional metal forming processes as Hydrostatic extrusion, Powders preforms forming, High- Energy-Rate forming, Ultrasonics metal forming will be presented.

Subject syllabus:

1. Ductility - definition, criterions, variables. Ductility by sheet metal forming. Plastic instability. Limit diagrams - theoretical issues. Limit diagrams - experiment. Technological ductility by sheet metal forming. Cold bulk forming - ductility experiments. 2. Ductility by hot metal forming. Dynamický material model, theoretical issues. Dynamic material model, experiment and aplication. Superplasticity, isotermic forming. Cutting and cummulative strain. Powder forming. Hydrostatic extrusion. Hydrodynamic lubrication. High energy forming. Ultrasonic forming. 3. Methodology of ductility tests by sheet metal forming. Methodology of ductility tests by bulk forming.
