Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students will be able to: • explain formability as a material property, • clarify the influence of forming on the properties and structure of the material, • explain different terms of formability (SOS, Intrinsic), • explain the formability criteria, • describe unconventional metal forming methods. They will get: • • an overview of methods for determining metal formability, • an overview of the unconventional technological manufacturing processes used in mechanical engineering, which is needed to understand modern manufacturing technologies. They will be able to: • choose suitable materials in terms of their formability for forming technologies in production processes, • conduct experiments to evaluate the limits of formability of materials, • select an unconventional forming method according to the purpose.
