Summary
Industrial engineering includes fields that are required by practice. It combines the technical knowledge of engineering with the knowledge of business management. The effort and task of an industrial engineer is to make the most effective use of corporate resources (financial resources, production, information, knowledge and skills of the people themselves). The goal is to optimize and improve both production and non-production processes.
This subject is focused on the complete solution of individual problems. There are mostly topical topics coming from
solution of the research tasks of the Department of Mechanical Technology or of the contractual research tasks of this department, possibly individually obtained
topics from technical practice. The work is individual, while other academic staff are involved in solving the problem
large parts are also consultants from companies that are the developers of the problem. Frequently part of the solution of the given problems is the work in the assigning
company, consultations with industry experts, lectures of practitioners. Given that this subject is significant
degree is based on independent student work, consultations and possible work in the company, independent search and study of literature and other
of resources, the subject is ranked by a higher number of credits in relation to the number of hours scheduled for consultations than is usual for the others
of study subjects.
Compulsory literature:
Literature for study of technical problems of thesis will be recommended to student in conjunction with theme of thesis
Recommended literature:
Literature for study of technical problems of thesis will be recommended to student in conjunction with theme of thesis.
Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
Time schedule of the subject Practical Industrial Engineering
• By the 3rd week of teaching, submit a syllabus of work with research (goals of the diploma thesis, study of literary sources, including foreign ones).
• By the 7th week of teaching to submit a working version of the main part of the work (points will be awarded according to the scope and quality of work), the work will include a survey at the workplace and input analysis, a brief overview of theoretical knowledge in the field, methods needed to solve the work).
• By the 9th week of teaching, submit a working version of the whole work and make a presentation (points will be awarded according to the scope and quality of work), the work will contain proposals for solutions and their processing.
• Presentation of semester project (week 9).
More detailed information is given in the LMS.
The point evaluation of the semester work includes the fulfillment of qualitative requirements (content, scope and graphic processing) of the work, the actual presentation of the work and also the observance of the set deadlines.
