Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Objectives are the summary terms of the general laws, procedures and information required for technologists working in the CAM system to introduce students to the basic principles of programming CNC machine stands, with possibilities and application of CAD / CAM system in practice and the basic methods of construction components using CAD / CAM systems . Students will learn how to work in a particular Edgecam CAM system (which is taught in the Department of machining and assembly), but also learns how to generally proceed in any other CAM system.

Summary
The subject is connecting with lessons Technology I, II, Machining - subjects what are interested about machining (turning, milling, drilling, and so on.) The subject extends knowledge about technological process creation and programming CNC machines tools. It will be used special software for CAM system (CAM - Computer-Aided Manufacturing). The name of the program is Edge CAM.
This subject is for II. semester of magister study, specialization mechanical technology.
Students will study theory and practice of machining technology (turning, 2.5 axis milling, 3 axis milling, drilling, wire cutting) by means of CAD/CAM system EdgeCAM. Contents of this subject including: creation and edition of CAD geometry, beginning cutting conditions, creation of technological process (strategy of cutting, setting cutting tools, instruction - G, M code etc.), cutting simulation, NC code generation for particular cutting machine.
