Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the course for this subject in theory to understand the basic processes of cutting and other machining options unconventional.
Emphasis is put on machine tools, materials, parts of their job and appropriate use. They are also described and demostrovány basic machine tools.

Machining, a new surface, whose properties depend on many factors, which are in practice called cutting conditions. Hand and machine metalworking students tested in practice, showing examples of turning, milling, drilling and grinding.

Subject syllabus:
1. Fundamentals of technical drawing, reading of drawings.
2. Fundamentals of metrology, Fundamentals of metrology, measurement errors, roughness parameters and their measurement.
3. Terminology, methods of machining, description of the cutting tool movements during machining, tool angles and planes.
4. Creating and shaping of chip, heat and temperature during machining, heat balance, and cutting environment.
5. Tool wear, durability and tool life, Taylor's relationship, cutting power, machinability of materials.
6. Tool materials (high speed steel, sintered carbides, cutting ceramics, cermets, cubic boron nitride, diamond).
7. Manufacturing process, the choice of bases, the sequence of operations, Technological structures, types and methods of installation.
8. Turning, the basic concepts of power when turning, turning tools, marking holders and inserts according to ISO taper turning, turning, clamping workpieces.
9. Milling, types of milling, climb and conventional milling, the milling forces, tools for milling, milling machine, milling machine accessories, cutting machine, workpiece clamping.
10. Drilling forces during drilling, drilling tools, roughing, reaming, boring, drilling machines and drilling.
11. Planning, shaping, drawing, extruding, machinery and tools for such operations cutting.
12. Grinding, grinding forces, types of grinding machines and tools for grinding, finishing machining methods - honing, finishing, lapping.
13. Thread production, production gear - methods, principles.
14. Unconventional machining methods.
