Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Target of this subject is application of practical and theoretical knowledge, especially in reasearch and development. - to apply a physical principles in machining - to interpret experimental methods in cutting analysis - to generalize experimental results in numerical model - to design and realize experimental and numerical workplace

Teaching methods

Individual consultations

This subject includes an analysis study of chip forming, of power ratios, of cutting process stability, of thermal effects, of the wear edge of tools, of durability, tool life and cutting properties of tools, of the machine-ability of materials, and of the optimisation of cutting process. In another part of the subject applications of acquired information and regularities for all methods of machining in extreme conditions during the special production of shapes and formed surface areas are used. This part includes as well a technological view for machining by applying microelectronics and computer techniques.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

After the initial consultation, the student will prepare a separate work on the given topic in order to focus his dissertation, which he will go on to consult on a regular basis. At the end, the exam will be held before the commission.
