Summary
This subject includes an analysis study of chip forming, of power ratios, of cutting process stability, of thermal effects, of the wear edge of tools, of durability, tool life and cutting properties of tools, of the machine-ability of materials, and of the optimisation of cutting process. In another part of the subject applications of acquired information and regularities for all methods of machining in extreme conditions during the special production of shapes and formed surface areas are used. This part includes as well a technological view for machining by applying microelectronics and computer techniques.
Compulsory literature:
Recommended literature:
SANDVIK Coromant, Technical Editorial Deartment. Modern Metal Cutting – A Practical Handbook. Tofrers Tryckery AB, Sweden, 1994, 927 p. ISBN 91-972290-0-3.
Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
After the initial consultation, the student will prepare a separate work on the given topic in order to focus his dissertation, which he will go on to consult on a regular basis. At the end, the exam will be held before the commission.
