Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to teach programming of computer numerically controlled machine tools with a focus on the method of programming using CAD/CAM systems, ie systems that use computer-aided manufacturing. Furthermore, the use of special software to support the production process (tools management and their clamps, fixtures devices, etc.). The content of the course includes the extension of knowledge of CNC machine programming with focus on the extension of basic 3axis milling strategies, advanced simulation and verification, multi-axis machining (4axis turning, turning with drive tools, 3+2axis milling - indexed milling and 5axis continuous milling) creation of the special tool and its clamps, generation NC code and NC code editing options, creation and editing shop floor documentation needed for production.

Teaching methods

Individual consultations
Experimental work in labs
Project work

The course is aimed at expansion and deepening of scientific principles and theories of programming and CAD / CAM systems for computer-aided machining processes. The aim is to expansion the knowledge of programming NC machine tools with a focus on expansion of strategies and advanced multi-axis machining simulation and verification of programming multi-axis machine tools

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

After the initial consultation, the student will prepare a separate work on the given topic in order to focus his dissertation, which he will go on to consult on a regular basis. At the end, the exam will be held before the commission.
