Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

1. to 2. - identify and name all ergonomic problems, 3. to 5. - select the appropriate method of solution, 6. to 7. - apply ergonomic analysis and legislative and normative documents, 8. - use measuring devices for ergonomic measurement, 9. to 10. - assess the suitability of the arrangement of the workplace, the appropriateness of operating positions, 11. - classify or the work, 12. to 14.- create a new arrangement of the workplace.

Summary

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic requirements for ergonomics of construction and installation of equipment in relation to working conditions and human capabilities.

Subject syllabus:

1) Introduction to ergonomics, system man - technology - environment, the degree of risk to human. 2) Anthropocentrism, human physical parameters (dimensions, movement, somatic, energy), human sensory parameters (sight, hearing, reflexes, etc.), mental parameters. 3) Dimensional solutions of job sight conditions, human body model. 4) Communication between man and technology, controls, their distribution, solutions, standardization, location. Indicators, their distribution, solutions, standardization, location, relationship between controls and indicators. 5) Workplace equipment, tools and utilities, shaping the handle. 6) Seats, basic structure, shapes and dimensions, the relationship between seats and work surfaces, dimensional optimization for different levels of users. 7) Properties of the environment. Lighting, noise, vibrations, climatic conditions in the workplace (temperature, humidity, air flow). Legislation, measurement. 8) Colours and their effect on humans, the safety significance of colours. 9) Work safety and hygiene, ergonomic design. 10) Physical burden, ergonomic measurements and evaluation of the working position, measuring of physical exertion. 11) Ergonomic analysis - RULA. Psychic burden, operating mode. 12) Ergonomic analysis NIOSH, Snook & Ciriello, KIM. 13) Categorization of works. 14) The role of the designer, technologist, worker safety.
