Subject Database and Internet is an important subject, which determines the profile of the graduates in branch Applied Informatics and Control. Its objective is to introduce students to the principles of creating data structures and the data processing or recording systems solving. Student will obtain a summary of available database systems useful for desktop computers and will cope with methods and procedures for database systems of small and middle range creating with emphasis to team work. A part of the subject is also connection to database throught Internet, creating of simple web information insystems.

Summary

Subject Database and Internet is an important subject, which determines the profile of the graduates in branch 23-70-70 Applied Informatics and Control. Its objective is to introduce students to the principles of creating data structures and the data processing or recording systems solving. Student will obtain a summary of available database systems useful for desktop computers and will cope with methods and procedures for database systems of small and middle range creating with emphasis to team work. A part of the subject is also connection to database throught Internet, creating of simple web information insystems.

Subject syllabus:

1. Introduction to the subject content, credit system claims. Object oriented database MS-Access. Object types, their use, data types, system possibilities and limits. 2. Data analysis, table schema, indexes and relationships. E-R model use for database desing. 3. Selection queries, query creating, virtual fields, data aggregation. SQL language use. 4. SQL language ANSI norm. 5. Creating of forms for data input. Control types, their use. 6. Creating of forms with subforms. Object manipulation methods. 7. Creating of reports, data grouping and aggregation. 8. System control (macros and modules, toolbars, menu bars) 9. VBA language, constants and values declaration, MS-Access object library. 10. Database security system, encrypting, workgroups, users and groups, permissions. Data replication, creating and synchronization. 11. Internet, web, hypertext design. 12. Server application, ASP technology and object model. ASP.NET technology. 13. Database connection, ODBC, ADO system. 14. Modern information systems design methods.
