Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the methods of signal unification for control systems, with the basic features of the SCADA / MMI system Control Web, with the creation of programs for this system and with single-chip computers of the PIC series.

Summary

The subject deals with the use of microcontrollers, elements for unification, amplification of signals and SCADA / MMI system in the design and implementation of control without feedback, measuring or control chain (system).

Student's knowledge acquired during his studies in the field of automatic control theory, automatic control means, informatics and communication technologies.

Subject syllabus:

1. Procedures for designing measurement and control chain (instrumentation, software selection, communication links selection, …). 2. Procedures for solving assigned projects, team work, …. 3. Creation of el. schematics and printed circuit boards for prototype boards. 4. Application of basic laws of electrical engineering in the design of measuring and control chains (DC and AC circuits). 5. Circuits for unification and signal processing by application (implementation of special counter circuits, timers, circuit elements, …). 6. Information transfer between control circuit elements of control systems. Communication interface for data transmission between measuring system and PC. 7. Basic propertis of SCADA/MMI systems (advantages, reasons of deployment…). 8. Control Web system - (development environment, basic building elements, openness of the system, time controlled applications and data controlled applications, animation possibilities, system modularity, access from the Internet, connection with OPC, DDE, ActiveX control subsystems Control Web, …). 9.
