Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The subject is designed for students of the last year of study and as such aims to supplement the gaps in knowledge in the themes wich are required in practice, but on wich in the other subjects during the studying not remain enough time. The main objective is to acquaint students with the latest technologies used in the practice in area of transformation and data processing. Students will gain a comprehensive overview of information's technologies wich are built on XML and database technologies (client-server) etc. An integral part of the course is also an area of ​​wireless WiFi networks, that is focuses on the issues of building and administering a wireless networks.

Teaching methods

Summary

The goal is to update knowledge in application development wich are closely bound with network technologies and building WiFi networks. The course covers five thematic areas: XML, SQL DML, programing the client aplications using ADO.NET and building WiFi networks.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

To obtain credit the student must prepare a report from the WiFi and pass an test wich is focused on XML technology.

Subject syllabus:

1. XML - the rules for creating elements and attributes, namespace 2. XML technology - validation and editing XML documents, XML schemas (XSD and DTD), DOM 3. XML - query and data transformation, XPath, XML Query, xmlt, LINQ to XML 4. Querying the SQL Server - Data Mining (directive Select, filter and group data) 5. Querying the SQL Server - querying multiple tables, queries with subqueries 6. Querying the SQL server - data modification (Insert, Update, Delete, Truncate table) 7. Introduction to the creation of stored procedures and functions 8. Introduction to ADO technology .NET, calling queries and presentation data on the forms 9. ADO technology .NET, data editing of tables in the session 10. Specific problematic of WiFi technology, antenna systems, problems of signal propagation 11. Wireless Network Security
