Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The goal of the subject is to be able to analyze, identify and compare the properties of the actuators different type. Next to be able to design suitable control algorithms in dependence on the application and to create the simulation model and evaluate the estimated properties of the drive, compare them whit other possible solutions.

Summary
The control of the actuators is the topic of this subject. After the classification of the actuators in dependence on the type of the drive and the used energy are the lectures oriented in control of the fluid power systems – on the hydraulic and pneumatic drives. Also the main properties of the electric drives are summarized. The creation of the simulation model of the hydraulic and pneumatic drive based on the mathematic – physical modelling, the simulation and obtaining of the important state variables is taught in the first part, next the controller design and verification of the achieving of the desired properties of the actuator using the simulation, the dimensioning of the elements is explain and practice. The simulation models are realized in the simulation programme MATLAB-Simulink and LMS AMESim. The experimental acquisition of the state variables of the drive, experimental identification and experimental verification of the designed control algorithms are realized on the test rig in the laboratory.
