Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The subject “Advanced Methods of Automatic Control ” belongs among subjects, which form the graduate profile of the student in master study program “Mechatronics”. Its objective is acquainting with the advanced methods, which are used in theory of automatic control. These methods are robust and optimal control.

Robustness of the control system with analog controller. Optimal control systems, optimality criteria, methods of optimal control design. Robust control, control in sliding modes.

Subject syllabus:

1. Acquainting with problems and content of subject. Mathematical models of linear MIMO dynamic elements. 2. MIMO control systems, stability, autonomity, invariance.. 3. Synthesis of linear MIMO control systems. 4. State-space models of MIMO systems and their behavior. 5. Basic problems of optimal control. Dynamic programming. Bellman principle of optimality. 6. Quadratic optima control, Potriagin minimum principle. 7. Time optimal control, robust control methods. 8. Control in sliding modes. 9. Method of state variables aggregation.
