The main aim of the subject System Theory is to introduce to students with basic concepts of the general system theory and the system approach to cybernetics and related areas.

Importance and history of systems, system approach. Basic terms of the system
theory, properties of the systems, subsystems, elements and linkages,
composition and decomposition. Methods and tools for system description.
Mathematic basis of system theory, theory of automata and graphs. Cybernetic
system theory. Identification of complex systems (production functions
analysis, theory of effect orders, knowledge systems, artificial intelligence).
