Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Sampling and quantization, signal to noise ratio, analog and digital filters, the first and second generation of the Vold-Kalman order filter, Fourier transform, fast Fourier transform algorithm (FFT and FFTW), autospectrum, analytic signal, Hilbert transform, modulation and demodulation of harmonic signals, calculation the envelope and phase of an analytical signal, unwrapping phase, quadrature mixing, parametric and nonparametric methods for calculating the frequency response, autocorrelation function, cross correlation function, Wiener–Khinchin theorem, wavelet transform, decomposition and reconstruction of signals.

Measurements of noise, vibration, force and stress in machinery. Technique for
recording and processing of signals. Antialiasing filters. Signal analysers.
FFT and 1/n-octave technique. Tracking technique and order analysis of
rotating
or reciprocating machines. Signal enhancement. Kalman filter. Wavelets in
diagnostics. Diagnostics of engines,
gearboxes, rolling and journal bearings. Unbalance compensation of rotational
parts. Orbits of shafts in journal bear-ings - full spectra. Spectra
measurements of stationary and non-stationary signals.
