Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to get acquainted with methods for testing machines, machine components and their diagnostics. Furthermore, hardware and software means for measuring quantities (sensors, measurement cards, signal analyzers, PULSE LabShop, MATLAB), input test signals and signal processing methodology in the range of knowledge necessary to master the preparation of a dissertation thesis. The student will be able to independently analyze the problem, define the methodology for testing and diagnosing machines and to present his results.

Summary

The subject is focused on methods for testing machines, machine components and diagnostics. It deepens the doctoral student's knowledge in the field of A/D and D/A converters, methods of measuring noise, vibration, force, position and revolutions, familiarization with sensors: accelerometers, laser vibrometers, measuring microphones, acoustic camera, intensity probes, capacitive and inductive position sensors. Analysis of test signals, signal generators, signal processing methods, time measurements, FFT, modal analysis, order analysis, life test definition and life prediction.
