Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the course is to become familiar with the methods of product testing and diagnostics to extent the necessary knowledge for the preparation of doctoral thesis, and mastery of the scientific methods of data processing. Student's partial knowledge is organized in the framework of doctoral studies so as to be capable of independent analysis, synthesis and presentation of their ideas.

Summary
A to D convertors. Measurement sound pressure, sound intensity, vibration, force and stress. Tacho probes, accelerometers, microphones, intensity probes. Antialiasing filter. Signal analyzers FFT and 1 / n - octave analysis techniques. Frequency analysis. Synchronous analysis of rotating and periodically working machines. Synchronous filtering. Measurement of frequency spectra for the run up and coast down of machines. Diagnostic of internal combustion engines and electric motors, gearboxes, rolling and sliding bearings. Measurement of transmission error. Balancing machines. Orbits of a journal inside sliding bearings - full spectrum. Measurement of frequency responses. Operating deflection shapes. Modal analysis. Testing stands. Life time tests. A histogram of cyclic stress from the rain-flow analysis of machines or units. Fatigue life prediction.
