Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The PhD student knows the methods and principles of closed loop control of fluid power systems, servodrives. HE/she is able to design the closed loop control taking into the account the dynamic properties of the controlled drive. He/she is able to use the simulation programmes by the design.

Summary

The goal of this subject is control of the fluid power systems – hydraulic and pneumatic drives. The energy transmission and control of the basic system variables and power sources are the first topics. The closed loop control – the servo systems are the next topic. The structure, components, control systems and methods of the design of the position, velocity and pressure closed loop control are taught. The function, construction, static and dynamic characteristics of the controlled systems – hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic cylinders, proportional control valves and servo valves, transducers, control systems are studied. The mathematical models are derived and the simulations using the simulation programme MATLAB-Simulink or AMESim are realized in the frame of the solved project.
