Activities and procedures related to the operation and maintenance of robotic workplaces. Solution of operational conditions of workplaces with ABB robots.

Summary

Students will be acquainted with activities related to the operation of robotic workplaces, management of operational documentation, verification of functionality of workplace safety features and training of workplace staff. Further, aspects of maintenance, service and improvement of workplaces will be discussed as well as definition of responsibilities in relation between supplier and operator of workplace. The commissioning and takeover of the workplace is also an important stage.

Subject syllabus:

Lectures: 1) Definition of problems related to operation and maintenance of robotized workplaces. Obligations of the robotic workplace (RW) operator arising from the legislation. 2) Requirements and related documentation of the RW operator. 3) RW operating modes and status parameter monitoring. 4) Tools for efficient operation and maintenance of RW. 5) Reporting of RW operating parameters. 6) Ideas for RW optimization. 7) Co-operation in automation orders. 8) Contract for work and its conditions in terms of operation and maintenance. 9) Remote monitoring of robots and production machines. Problems of cyber security. 10) RW configurability and requirements for its sub-components - unification. 11) IoT, I4.0 and Digital Twins. 12) Tools for big data processing - data analysis. 13) Augmented reality for RW operation and maintenance. 14) Robot rentals, Outsourcing services, Modularity. Seminars: 1) Analysis of RW documentation and its parts important for operation and maintenance. 2) Maintenance instructions for components of RW. 3) Error conditions of the workplace and reactions to them. 4-5) Robot calibration and TCP definition. 6) Test. 7-12) Detailed analysis of workplaces in the laboratory in terms of operation and maintenance. 13) Test. 14) Credit.

Mandatory attendence participation: Compulsory attendance at seminars is at least 80%.

Conditions for subject completion and attendance at the exercises within ISP: To be awarded credit, the student must complete all assignments according to the instructions in the LMS course and achieve the minimum number of points for credit. Once credit has been awarded, the student may register for the examination. The exam consists of a written and an oral part. By agreement with the lecturer, participation in the practicals is not necessary.
