Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the course is to educate a doctoral student for research activities in the field of robotics. The course is focused on the ability to deeply analyze the nature of processes in robotic systems and the subsequent creative synthesis of knowledge to solve identified problems and design new or significantly innovated systems.

Summary
Characteristics of robotic systems, current state and development trends. Industrial and service robots. Mechatronic systems and their applications in technological processes - examples and possibilities. Robot Subsystems. Design methods of production systems with industrial robots. Use of CAD / CAE / CAM / CAI systems in robotics. Specific problems of robotic systems - dynamics, accuracy, control, trajectory planning, programming. Robotot peripheral devices.

Subject syllabus:
1. Classification of robotic systems, basic terms, parameters and terminology, subsystems of robots.
2. Mechanical subsystem of the robot - kinematic chains, realization of motion units, methods and means of design of the bearing subsystem.
3. Drive subsystem - drive structures, gears, motors, mechanics of robot drives.
4. Possibilities of simulation of robotic systems and production lines.
5. Deployment of robots in engineering and non-engineering industries.
6. Trends in the field of service robotics, service and personnel robots, design specifics.
