Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The course covers the basics of designing in energy machinery and equipment. Students will receive the assignment at the beginning of the semester by the teacher of the Department of Energy Engineering, of their choice. The theme includes input from the field, which contains the draft technical equipment supplemented by selected design drawing. Theme design exercise may be related to the subject of the assignment of the diploma project

Summary
Students will be acquainted with basic procedures for designing energy equipment and their parts such as: balance schemes, P&I schemes, regulatory schemes. Furthermore, the process of processing a computational project, construction solution, etc. They will also be acquainted with the fundamentals of design engineering in the field of power engineering and with the principles of applying utility models and patents.

Subject syllabus:
1. Understand the assignment. Talk with the teacher.
2. Providing documents to prepare.
3. Creating a basic mass and heat balance diagram of the device.
4. Balance calculation and mass calculation devices.
5. The basic outline dimensions and choice of equipment.
6. Processing design drawings.
7. Making the final report.
8. Presentation of results from other students.
9. Excursion to the selected device related to the topic of the design exercise.
