Summary

Within this subject the students will get a basic overview of the general problems of steam boilers, their basic parts and will meet with the basic rules about their parameters and computational procedures during designing of basic components.

Subject syllabus:

1. Transforming primary energy fuels into electricity and heat, transformation efficiency, Rankine cycle, Brayton cycle, combined cycle 2. Stoichiometry, calculation of efficiency, production heat calculation, fuel quantity 3. Steam generator and its function and integration in power source, power plant, heating plant, heating plant. 4. Steam generators, function principle and their main parts 5. Division of steam generators according to output medium and design of evaporator, natural circulation, flow-through boilers, supercritical parameters 6. Division of steam generators according to the used form of primary energy of fossil and alternative fuels, HRSG and HWB and generators for ZEVO 7. Separation of steam generators according to the method of fuel combustion, grate, fluid, powder 8. Division of steam generators by arrangement and number of strokes 9. Separation of steam generators by pressure in combustion chamber, vacuum, overpressure 10. Equipment for fuel preparation, types of mills and mills 11. Steam superheater, shifting, co-current, countercurrent, its types 12. Steam reheater, the reason for its formation, shifting, current, countercurrent, its types 13. Water heater, reasons of origin, evaporative, non-evaporative, co-current, countercurrent, its types 14. Air heater, reasons of origin, co-current, countercurrent, recuperative, regenerative 15. Primary and secondary environmental measures for boilers

Mandatory attendence participation: Min. 80% participation in exercises. To complete the credit, students must complete 3 programs that focus on: 1. Conversion of fuels and their parameters 2. Calculation of boiler efficiency by indirect method 3. Calculation of the R-C cycle with Carnotisation interventions In addition, students must successfully complete a credit test and, based on successful completion of the credit, they may take an exam, which will consist of a written and oral part.
