Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students gain knowledge about utilization of solar energy and fuel cells. Intimately the is devoted attention to branch of utilization of solar energy, primarily to thermo solar systems, types of heat storage, the design of solar system and the calculation of an annual energy gains. Further there is devoted attention to attributes and the use of photovoltaic cells and fuel cells and their expectation.

Summary

The course continues on the subject "Alternative and renewable energy sources" of the Bachelor study program. Subject deals with utilization of solar energy and fuel cells. Intimately the is devoted attention to branch of utilization of solar energy, primarily to thermo solar systems, types of heat storage, the design of solar system and the calculation of an annual energy gains. Further there is devoted an attention to attributes and the use of photovoltaic cells and fuel cells and their expectation.

1. Solar energy, characteristics, types of transform to usable energy kinds 2. Solar radiation, direct, diffused, mathematical model for determination of irradiation for a generally positioned surface 3. Passive, direct system for solar energy utilization. Solar power stations. 4. Solar collectors, types 5. Testing and certification of solar collectors 6. Solar flat plate collector, principle of calculation, efficiency 7. Heat storage, solar tanks, stratification tank 8. Thermosolar systems, types, schemas, antifreeze fluids 9. Photovoltaic conversion, types of PV cells, efficiency, utilization 10. Photovoltaic systems 11. Fuel cells – principles, types 12. Low-temperature and high-temperature fuel cells, characteristics, efficiency, utilization
