Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

After completing the course, the student should be able to prepare a simple project of distribution and communication systems from the perspective of linear design of these utilities. The student should know the basic concepts, be familiar with the calculations, materials and technologies used in the projects. The objective is to produce a semester project to create an efficient and safe line structure that meets the needs of users and complies with relevant standards and regulations. It is also the goal that the student will be able to defend the proposed results of his/her semester project.

Summary

The course deals with the principles of designing power and communication systems from the perspective of linear structures. The design of linear structures in the field of electrical networks includes activities related to the design of power lines, distribution networks and telecommunication networks. Various factors such as energy requirements, safety, reliability and economic considerations must be taken into account in the design process. The different types of design solutions, methods for finding the optimal design for a given project, orientation in legislation and relevant standards are addressed.
