Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Understand to problems Parameters of a line derivation. Be able to apply exact method to calculation of transmission networks. Know how to reproduce problems of wave character of lines, and how to compute steady state operating of complex nodal alternating current networks. Can explain asymmetrical and non-harmonic curves problems in electrical networks. Apply reliability computation to basic electrical networks.

Summary

Subject contents problems of line constants derivation and calculation of transmission networks by exact method including problems of wave character of lines. Further it deals with computing of steady state operating of complex nodal alternating current networks. Furthermore contents asymmetrical and non-harmonic curves problems in electrical networks and application of reliability computations to basic electrical networks.

Lectures: Fundamental terms, network division Derivation of line parameters (resistance, inductivity) Derivation of line parameters (capacity, leakage) Symmetrical components of line parameters Fundamental line calculation methods, dc line Calculation of LV and HV node networks Calculation of VHV and EHV networks – exact method Calculation of VHV and EHV networks – T and  network Application of Thomson’s formulas to dc and ac line Special line state Calculation methods of complicated ac network – Gaus - Seidl’s method Newton Raphson’s method of ac network calculation Three-phases network with unsymmetrical load Non-sinusoidal wave of current and voltage Exercises: Registration, safety instruction Line parameters (inductivity, capacity) Unsymmetrical networks, symmetrical components Dc networks (minimum weight method) + ac network calculation Calculation of ac network – Project 1 (three-way supply) Conductor dimensioning Calculation of node ac network – Project 2 VHV line calculation – exact method Laboratory Program “Bizon projektant” training Non-sinusoidal wave of current and voltage Test Bizon projektant – free time to make project Credit hour Laboratory: Long line – constants 3 phase systems Projects: Calculation of ac networks (three-way supply) Calculation of node ac network Design of network (SW Bizon)
