Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

After negotiating of this course students are able to define selected terms from the power plants equipment. They know to explain and describe non standard types of power plants and apply their knowledge to the internship. They know to focus on exacting operating conditions, to calculate basic and complex information related to the operation, interpret and demonstrate knowledge of scientific thinking and creative approach to solve new problems.

Summary

The course deepens students' knowledge of power plants. It is focused on new technologies and computing methods in the context of students' dissertations works.

Lectures: 1st Alternators, motors, transformers and distribution equipment. 2nd Electrical influences of electrical distribution system. 3rd Nuclear safety. 4th Power plants with combined cycle. 5th Possibility of solar and wind energy using. 6th Small hydro power plants. 7th Protections of the alternators.
