Explaining terms, principles and functions of digital protections.
After passing the subject the student is able to apply the theory of protections and automatics in electric power distribution into the design of protection systems.

Subject syllabus:
Instrument current transformers. Instrument error at transient processes, dimensioning of instrument current transformers for differential protections, high-speed impedance protections and slow protections.
Digital distance protections.
Differential protections. Transverse and lengthwise differential protections. Earth-fault protections.
Anti-breakdown automatics.
