Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
1. The purpose of this course is that students get an idea of the basic principles of electrotechnics, to a degree necessary for Faculty of safety engineering graduates.
2. Students will learn basic principles of electrical measurement and semiconductors and electric machines.
3. Different types of electric power grids are also teached in this course.
4. Students should be able to understand the connection between these theoretical principles and practical ways of using electrical energy. Special attention should be paid to practical things that students will need in their future career.
Students will also learn basic facts about protection against injuries in electrotechnics, and the most important legal regulations and standards that they can encounter.
