Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students will learn the basic safety rules and regulations necessary for operation of electrical installations so that they pass the regulation and requirements for measurement in Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science laboratories (Act No. 250/2021 Coll. and Government Decree No. 194/2022 Coll.)

Summary

The aim of this subject is to acquaint students of FEI 1st class with basic safety rules and regualtions for activity on electric devices. After their knowledge verification, they will become instructed persons in terms of provision §4 (Act No. 250/2021 Coll. and Government Decree No. 194/2022 Coll.) and they will be able to work on electric devices in FEI laboratories.

Terms and definitions, Act No. 250/2021 Coll. and Government Regulation No. 194/2022 Coll; Act No. 262/2006 Coll. – Labor code; Identification of conductors by colors EN 60445 ed.5, ČSN EN 60446:2007, ČSN 33 0165 ed. 2); Basic and safety principles for man-machine interface, marking and identification. Coding principles for indicators and actuators EN 60073 ed.2; Graphic symbols - Safety colours and safety symbols (ČSN ISO 3864-1); Basic principles and rules of protection against electric shock Philosophy of Protection against electric shock (ČSN EN 61140 ED.3); Areas classification according to risk of electric shock, touch voltage levels (HD 60364-4-41:2017); LV supply system in university laboratories (HD 60364-1:2008/A11:2017), principle of automatic disconnection to supply source; Protective measures according to HD 60364-4-41:2017, EN 61140 ED.3; External influences acc. to HD 60364-5-51:2009 (ČSN 33 2000-5-51 ED.3+Z1+Z2), ingress protection (IP code) acc. to EN 60529:1991) Wiring Systems – cable sizing, cable protection, current carrying capability acc to HD60364-5-52:2011 (ČSN 33 2000-5-52 ED.2), LV overcurrent protective devices; Live working, operation of electrical installations Workplace preparations; Communication (transmission of information) important items included in EN 50110-1 (ČSN EN 50110-1 ED.3); Definition of live working zone, vicinity zone; Steps to be undertaken for dead working; First aid by electric shock; Fire extinguishing of electrical installation and apparatus; PC laboratories and PC Classrooms local safety rules; Discussion.
