Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Students will learn the basic safety rules and regulations necessary for operation of electrical installations so that they pass the regulation and requirements for measurement in Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science laboratories (Act No. 250/2021 Coll. and Government Decree No. 194/2022 Coll.)

Summary
The aim of this subject is to acquaint students of FEI 1st class with basic safety rules and regualtions for activity on electric devices. After their knowledge verification, they will become instructed persons in terms of provision §4 (Act No. 250/2021 Coll. and Government Decree No. 194/2022 Coll.) and they will be able to work on electric devices in FEI laboratories.

Subject syllabus:
1. Safety in electrotechnics. Terms, sense, regulations and standards. Skills in electrotechnics according to Czech law - Vyhl.50/1978, Zák. 262/2006-labour code, codes 22/1997, NV 17/2003 Sb., NV 176/2008 Sb., validity area.
2. Identificatin by colours – conductor, tell-tales, indicators, actuators, control devices according to Europian standards - EN 60445 ed.3, EN 60446 ed.2, ČSN 33 0165, EN 60073 ed.2, warning boards.
3. Basic principles of protection against electric shoc - philosophy of protection against electric shock(HD 60364 – 4 – 41), ambiente influence, touch voltage (HD 60364 – 1, 5-51, HD 60364 – 4 – 41 ed.2)
4. Supply systems (HD 60364 – 1), the way of protection against electric shock (HD60364 – 4 – 41), external influences and internationa protection code (HD 60364 – 5-51, EN 60529 )
5. Lines/cables – design and protection of line, permissive current load HD 60364 – 5 – 52, HD 60364 – 5 – 523, components for protection in low voltage systems.
6. Live working, operation of electrical installation, preparation of work location - communication, important parts from EN 50110-1, definition of live working zone, vicinity zone, preparation of work zone for dead working,
7. The first aid by electric shock, fire extinguishing of electrical devices and installation
