Summary

The aim of this subject is to acquaint students of FEI 1st class with basic safety rules and regualtions for activity on electric devices. After their knowledge verification, they will become instructed persons in terms of provision §4 Decree 50/1978 Coll. and they will be able to work on electric devices in FEECS laboratories. This course is designed for students who have taken the Safety in Electrotechnic course 3 or more years ago.

Compulsory literature:

• Dudek, J.: Safety in electrotechnics, syllabus, pdf presentation, November 2017/available with the teachers at seminars and consultations/. • Protection against electric shocks, text with 48 pages in pdf. available at the teacher on call • Standards and regulations download link at www.eur-lex.europa.eu

Recommended literature:

• Selected and recommended european directives, free download link at www.eur-lex.europa.eu • Presentation and information provided at lectures • International standards (HD 60364, EN 50110) Other: • Jones, R. A.: Questions and answers electrical safety; Jones and Beartlett publishers; Sudbury; 2012, ISEN 978-0-7637-541-6 (110 pp.)

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

• Continuous verifying of student knowledge of the discussion and debate. • Exam quiz, or written exam on subject matter and regulations after passing lectures
