Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students will learn the basic regulations and law necessary for operation of electrical installations in order to meet the regulation and requirements for individual measurement in the laboratories of the VŠB-Technical university.

Teaching methods

Teaching by an expert (lecture or tutorial)

The aim of this subject is to recapitulate, extend and update the safety related rules and requirements for activity on electric devices and installations. The subject is destined for 1st class of bachelor and connected master study students of the specialization Mechatronics. After checking their knowledge, they will pass the requirements and become the instructed persons in terms of provision §4 regulation number of Decree 50/1978 Coll. and they will be able to independently operate the electrical installation in the VŠB-TU laboratories.

Compulsory literature:

1. European Directives, free download link at www.eur-lex.europa.eu 2. Presentation and information provided at lectures; 3. International standards (see standards aforementioned);

Recommended literature:

Safety in electrotechnics, syllabus

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

• Written test from safety rules after lectures
