Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic laws and principles of circuit theory. The course is recommended especially for those students who have not encountered electrical engineering subjects in high school or for students who want to learn the basics of the subject. After taking Basics of Circuit Theory, the student is familiar with the basic laws and principles and can calculate currents and voltages in simple electrical circuits. The student will effectively apply the acquired knowledge and skills in further studies.

Summary

The course Basics of Circuit Theory deals with basic considerations and analyses of electrical circuits. The knowledge gained after completing the course is intended to serve as a basis for further study.

Subject syllabus:

- Introductory lesson - Units, basic marks - Basic concepts - definition of circuit elements, current, voltage, circuit topology - 1. and 2. Kirchhoff's law, Ohm's law, applications - Series arrangement of elements - Parallel ordering of elements - Parameters, characteristics and ordering of sources - Basic calculation methods - method of gradual simplification, method of proportional quantities - Voltage and current dividers - Complex numbers - introduction to the problem - Symbolic-complex method - Simple AC circuits - Imitances and phenomena in AC circuits - Credit
